Welcome to the Web Page for our Grad 2018 class Information will be shared via REMIND, scrolling TV announcements, and via the Grad Bulletin board outside of the Foods Room. Important announcements also come to your parent's email, so please make sure that address is up to date with the school.
The Grad Ceremony is organized by Highwood Staff and will be held in the Park on Friday, June 29, 2018. The Grad Banquet will be held at the Memorial Centre on June 29, it is organized by parents and students.

Banquet ticket price has been fixed at $40.00. The Banquet will be at the Highwood Memorial Centre on June 29. Door open at 4:30.You MUST BE SEATED BY 5:15 for the Grand March or you will not be allowed in. Dinner is at 6:00 followed by the Toasts. Tickets will be available in May 8 online through INVITE Right. There is a maximum of 8 tickets (including the Grad) per family. You are limited to the number of tickets (max 8) you requested in the survey. You can, however purchase fewer tickets (eg you asked for 6 and only want 4) and that might free up more tickets for others. Watch this space for details. We will be meeting with the Grad class the week of April 23 to discuss tickets, rehearsal, and songs for the Grand March.
Next Grad/Parent meeting is Wednesday May 16 at 6:30 pm in the HHS library.

The survey on Gown size and Banquet tickets is coming to your school gm account (not your parents account). Please complete it by March 20....I can't order you a grad gown unless you complete the survey.
Pick up your Grad Package from Mr. Oxtoby or at the office. Apply to Graduate using the Blue Form by March 29.

Please include a total of 2-3 pictures of when you were a baby, a toddler, and at elementary school. Send what you have if you do not have baby pictures. .

From the Banquet Fundraising Committee:
The Christmas Market was a success. Stay tuned for future fund raising endeavors.
We will be sending out students to deliver donation letters to the community business. Any business that sponsors the silent auction or the Christmas market or the graduation class in any way, we will advertise their names with a sponsor board at grad, in the paper and online as well as the radio.
We can’t accomplish any of this without the help of the Parent Grad Committee and the grads themselves. This only works if we all work together. We know this is time consuming and we like to say Thank you and we really appreciate all of the effort and time you grad parents are putting in. Any help is appreciated, whether it’s a family member who is trying to get a home business off the ground, finding silent auction items or even 1 or 2 hours working at the market. The Memorial Centre is the chosen Banquet venue and can seat up to 738. There will likely be some sort of limit on tickets- we will send a survey out in spring to determine.
67 responses came in from the Banquet .gm survey: Ms Dwerynchuk was chosen to MC the banquet and she has accepted. The vote on having a guest speaker was 53% against. Baby Slideshow was 83% in favour- now we need a volunteer! 64% were in favour of a dance 59% voted against having Historians speak from each of the Feeder Schools. 85% wanted a photo booth. A toast offered by students to Grad Class (yes 88%) Parents (yes 75%) Staff (yes 85%) The theme data supported Rustic (6 votes) but this was supplemented by the October 20 survey out of the office which garnered 14 more votes for Rustic and one for Western.

Grad Ceremony fees have been set at $50.00 per grad for the Ceremony in the park June 29, 2018.
Sept 14: Great turnout at the Sept 13 meeting. We will be collecting student feedback on the format for the banquet program. Plans are underway for decorating, meals and fund raising. Stay tuned!
